Karsten has over 15 years of experience representing broadcast television stations, cable companies, and television networks on matters involving distribution, intellectual property, federal regulation, and content syndication. As a communications and corporate attorney, he has represented some of the largest media companies in the US. As a consultant, Karsten has assisted content providers in monetizing content via Roku and agreements with mobile phone platforms, iTunes, and VOD and OTT platforms. As a former Director of Programming for Time Warner Cable and legal counsel for Comcast Cable, he has sat on both sides of the negotiating table. He was the President of PAX Internet and has a long list of content licensing deals under his belt, including the creation, implementation, and execution of multiplatform synergies for PAX TV (now ION). Karsten is at the forefront of new media deal-making. He earned his BA from Washington and Lee University and Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida.
